Yeah, the title pretty much says it all. It’s the old layout enhanced. Of course, I’m still looking ahead to AMP 9.0 (actually, there should be a special surprise about AMP coming later this week), so I don’t know how long I’ll keep this design.
Also, I fixed the Plugin site. No more annoying test posts, and now space for my Chrome plugins!

Okay DS, let’s hear some complaints!

Only three this time.
The links for Home, Games lists etc.. are to big. Make the font bigger, and the padding smaller.
The weird old border at the bottom of the page is still weird. Try aligning it to the content box.
And well, the line under Ratings / over Comments + the line under the comments are unnecessary. Make space there instead of lines.

Your problem, VG, is that you’re really bad at showing of your GREAT web knowledge. I’ve watched your “previous” website. And seriously. They don’t look that good.
You got to somehow train everyday and watch what famous websites look like. If you want to be a good designer. As websites is more designing than coding nowadays.

I honestly have very little creativity when it comes to these things. That’s why, as much as I complain about it, I really like the Inkman project. All I have to do is code, and AP gives me all the art, and makes a lot of the decisions about the game.
I’m aware some of my older sites aren’t really that good, but I think I am becoming better. I really like my new Tunxis Grill site is really good, and is maybe up to Web 1.5, while this one is still kinda Web 1.1. I’ve been reading more tutorials on Nettuts about how to use gradients and stuff in web design, but I haven’t gotten around to actually using them.

Tunxis Grill is pretty good. But there’s still those problems you’ve already figured out. You forget simple things too.. Which is really bad.
I’d say that you should try to create some WP themes and put them on wordpress.org. To see how people react. I’m already making a theme, that I hope will show up fine.

I do? Like what exactly?

Gigantic buttons. Make the text larger instead of adding padding.
Those pop-up menus are a little bit odd. They would be better if the rolled out and didn’t change the placing of the stuff below.
The links are awful. Just do something cool with them instead of making them ordinary blue and underlined. (Example of color links: http://daxterspeed.uuuq.com/blog/ )
Odd background. White on black just ain’t good.
OH HI CAPS LOCK! (Aka, wrong font for all caps.)
No easy to print version. Easy to print version of webpages are a must for restaurants and other services.
And I don’t really like the “photoshop” work on the header img.
Wow. I’m just rating you down like it was no thing.

*quickly enables deeper nesting*
Yeah, I just watched a great tutorial on Nettuts+ about that. I’m going to implement it, since I’ve never really known how to.
See, I don’t like that at all. How are you supposed to know what’s a link and what’s not without hovering over everything? Not every visitor is as web-savvy as you or me.
*checks daxterspeed.uuuq.com*
I think it looks okay. And it doesn’t stand out that much.
No, I definitely made sure that it printed nicely. That was something the owner requested and I put in. I’m not sure where you’re print-previewing, but I definitely tweaked the CSS for that.
Huh?

I’ve figured out another few points!
- Links; customize them. Underlined is so ‘90.
- Texts; Rewrite them all. Make them longer and better. Like this text:
What’s in bold is good. The rest is not.

Man, what’s my problem with doing stuff and then not uploading it? I HAVE rewritten those, although they’re about the same length. But I’m pretty good at padding thanks to English class.
Also, I think underlined links should stay just so that people know what they are. Either that or at least keep them in blue.

I’ve read a thing about not having more then a 5px padding..
I’ve already posted an comment with a link to a new WP theme I’m making. That shows of the fact that links can have any color. And don’t have to be underlined.

…but you made them the same color as everything else? And not even a hover effect? That just…I don’t…it’s not usable…

Well, this is just getting to long. You’ll get the last word when you reply to me. I’ll work on a few things of mine now.
PS. Thanks for the “subtle” comments on my things.
